Four-Penny Opera

Apparently, the U.S. Mint has had plans to release four new penny designs celebrating the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln's birth. Two of the designs have already been released and a third is awaited next week on the 13th. The fourth is to come out on November 12th.

The reverse side of each of the four designs will feature one of four scenes from the President's life: his humble beginnings in a Kentucky log cabin, his formative years as a rail-splitter in Indiana, his professional life as a lawyer in Illinois, and his presidential years in Washington, D.C..
