A very unfortunate story about a young woman whose 8-month fetus had been removed from her body and is nowhere to be found. All this in Worcester, MA, the Heart of Massachusetts, as reported by the BBC and the New York Times.

The O'Reilly F***tor

A friend of mine posted a link to a snippet of an O'Reilly video that very beautifully shows how deep his raging stupidity goes, as well as the stupidity of those who check his facts and of the network that allows those claims on air.

Apparently, the United States has a lower life expectancy than Canada for the simple reason that we have... a greater population. For your enjoyment, Bill O'Reilly.

Right-Wing Health Insanity

This is unbelievable. These are the people that represent a great part of the the U.S. population. They are the voices that speak for us in that hallowed hall of Congress and this is the insanity they fulminate: they 'enlighten' us to the truth behind the proposed state-subsidized government healthcare and reveal that it is merely a plan to kill the weak and the elderly.

Bauhaus Revisited

I have always believed that the 1920s and 30s produced some of the best art, as well as practical and aesthetically pleasing designs in architecture and furnishings. A museum in Berlin is now revisiting the Bauhaus years. The corresponding slide show can be found here.

'Golden Girls' Lesbian Jokes

That The Golden Girls was ahead of its time in terms of social issues is not a question. One of the recurring social themes in the show was homosexuality and some of the funniest moments were the instances when lesbianism in particular became an issue... a confusing one more often than not. Here are two of those instances... both very funny.

Palin's 'poem'

I'm not a big fan of William Shatner, nor Conan, but this video is funny. They make Palin's last speech as governor of Alaska sound like the product of a poet who has spent too much time in an opium den.

Maybe Conan is right: 'It's a poem. It was always meant to be a poem.'
